Uzi Doorman Explained: The Worker Drone Who Broke Murder Drones

If Murder Drones has a beating heart, it's Uzi Doorman. She's the goth teenage worker drone whose refusal to accept the rules of her world drags the entire plot into motion. Here's who she is, why she matters, and what makes her one of the most-loved indie animation protagonists of the decade.
Who is Uzi Doorman?
Uzi is a Worker Drone living in a bunker colony on the frozen planet Copper-9. She's sharp, sarcastic, deeply lonely, and obsessed with proving herself โ especially to a community (and a father) that mostly wants her to sit down and stay safe. Her defining early act is building a railgun against everyone's wishes, which tells you everything: Uzi solves problems by force of will and refuses to be small.
Her family and the bigger mystery
Uzi's dad is Khan Doorman, the colony's nervous, door-obsessed mayor. Their strained relationship โ a parent terrified of losing his kid versus a kid desperate to matter โ is one of the show's most grounded threads. Her mother, Nori, sits at the centre of the show's deepest mystery and ties Uzi directly to the origins of the Absolute Solver.

The Absolute Solver and Uzi's powers
The turn that breaks the show wide open: Uzi gains access to the Absolute Solver โ the same reality-warping force that drives the series' horror. Suddenly the underdog worker drone is wielding powers that outclass the very killers sent to exterminate her kind. It's a brilliant escalation because it's earned: Uzi spent the whole series clawing for significance, and now she has more of it than she can safely handle.
Uzi's arc is the classic "be careful what you wish for" โ she wanted to matter, and the universe took her completely seriously.

Why fans love her
- โนShe's competent and a mess. Brilliant engineer, emotionally chaotic teenager. Both at once.
- โนShe earns her power. Nothing is handed to her; she builds, breaks and fights for every win.
- โนThe N dynamic. Her bond with N gives the show its warmth in a setting that's otherwise pure cold and violence.
- โนShe's a fantastic OC template. Goth worker drone with a homemade weapon and a chip on her shoulder is a starting point thousands of fan OCs riff on.
Designing an Uzi-inspired OC
Want your own scrappy worker drone? Lean into the things that make Uzi work: a worker chassis, a single expressive visor symbol, a moody palette, and one signature weapon she built herself. Give her a flaw โ a temper, a fear, a need to prove something โ rather than just stacking powers. Our Murder Drones OC creator covers chassis, visor, palette, sidearm and disposition in one place.

Uzi Doorman FAQ
How old is Uzi?
Uzi reads as a teenager and is written as one โ rebellious, insecure, desperate for independence. The show treats her as a coming-of-age protagonist rather than assigning a hard canonical age.
Why does Uzi wear a hood?
Her purple-lined hood is part of her goth-outsider silhouette and one of the most recognisable designs in the fandom. It reinforces her "loner who doesn't fit the colony" energy.
