Who Is Tessa in Murder Drones? Tessa Elliott and the Cyn Twist Explained

Tessa Elliott is the human girl who salvaged N, V, J and Cyn in Murder Drones, and the drones served at her family's mansion on Earth. The Tessa who later lands on Copper 9 seems to be on the heroes' side, until episode 7 reveals she was Cyn wearing her body.

The mansion on Earth: episode 5
In Home (9 June 2023) we see N's memories of being a Worker Drone servant at Tessa's mansion, alongside V, J and a malfunctioning "zombie" drone, Cyn. The young Tessa in these memories is kind to her drones, and she and J help Uzi and N escape a mutated V. The basement shows the truth: Cyn killed N and remodelled him, V and J into Disassembly Drones, then turned the other drones on the humans in the mansion.
Tessa on Copper 9
At the end of episode 3 an adult Tessa arrives on Copper 9 with a rebuilt J, saying she is there for maintenance work. In Dead End (18 August 2023) she and J team up with Uzi's group and reveal that Cyn sent the Disassembly Drones to Copper 9. Privately, Tessa tells N that Cyn has already destroyed Earth, and urges him to save the universe instead of Uzi, who risks being possessed.
It sounds like advice from someone who cares about N. Knowing what comes next, it reads like Cyn trying to separate him from the one person who can stop her.
The twist: Mass Destruction
In episode 7 (29 March 2024) Tessa attacks Uzi in a cathedral, and N cuts off her head. Tessa reattaches it and reveals she is Cyn, disguised in Tessa's grafted-on corpse ever since arriving on Copper 9. Every helpful Tessa scene in episodes 5 and 6 was Cyn steering the group.
The scariest thing in Murder Drones is not a robot with claws. It is the friendly human who turns out never to have been there.
