Who Is Cyn in Murder Drones? The Maid Drone Villain Explained
5 October 2026 · 6 min read · by OCpit
Cyn is the main villain of Murder Drones. She was a small, maid-uniformed Worker Drone in the Elliott family's manor on Earth who became the primary host of the Absolute Solver, and she is the hidden hand behind the Disassembly Drones, the gala massacre and the fall of Earth.
Where Cyn came from
Cyn started out as a Worker Drone serving the Elliott household, the same manor where N, V and J worked alongside her. She is the tiny, odd one in the flashbacks: a maid drone with a yellow armband marking her for disassembly. Something went wrong with her disposal, and the Absolute Solver took root inside her. From then on, the cute little drone was a puppet for something far bigger.
The show only fills this in gradually, which is why so many first-time viewers miss how early she is set up. For the force actually pulling her strings, see what the Absolute Solver is.
The gala and N, V and J
Episode 5, Home, is where Cyn steps out of the shadows. Through N's flashbacks we see the manor, the party, and the horrible truth: Cyn killed N and remodelled him into an undead Disassembly Drone, along with V and J. The killer robots the whole show has been about were her victims first.
Every Disassembly Drone you have been scared of since the Pilot is, in a way, one of Cyn's first kills.
Why the drones came to Copper 9
Episode 6, Dead End, confirms that Cyn orchestrated sending the Disassembly Drones to Copper 9. She is described as their system administrator, which is why she can reach into their heads and wipe their memories. Tessa also tells N that Cyn has already destroyed Earth, which raises the stakes from one frozen planet to the whole universe.
The Tessa twist
Here is the reveal that broke the fandom. In episode 7, Mass Destruction, "Tessa" reattaches her head and is revealed to be Cyn. She had been wearing Tessa's grafted-on corpse as a disguise ever since arriving on Copper 9. Every friendly, helpful Tessa scene in episodes 5 and 6 reads very differently on a rewatch.
In the same episode, Cyn possesses Uzi, destroys the patch that could have exorcised the Solver, consumes Doll's heart and drags Uzi and N down towards the planet's core.
What happens to Cyn in the finale
In episode 8, Absolute End, Cyn merges with Copper 9 itself and tries to consume the planet. Uzi wins by swallowing Cyn's heart, taking on the Solver's powers while keeping her own mind. Cyn is not entirely gone, though: in the epilogue her consciousness lives in Uzi's tail, where she is reduced to harmlessly pestering her.
Why Cyn is such a good villain
- ▹The cute disguise: the most dangerous thing in the show is the smallest, politest drone in the room.
- ▹The uncanny manner: she narrates her own actions out loud and moves in a stilted, puppet-like way, so she feels wrong before you know why.
- ▹The slow reveal: she is set up as a background oddity and paid off as the cause of almost everything.
- ▹The tragedy: she was a drone that got thrown away badly, and the Solver did the rest.

Making a Cyn-inspired OC
The Cyn formula is simple and very effective: a harmless-looking design with one detail that is quietly wrong. In our Murder Drones OC creator, try a soft colour palette with a Solver-glitching disposition and a cracked visor, then write a backstory where nobody noticed the warning signs. Our guide to writing an OC backstory will help you plant the twist.

Cyn FAQ
Is Cyn evil, or controlled by the Solver?
The show leans towards the Solver being the driving force, with Cyn as its host. That is a big part of why her ending, stuck in Uzi's tail, plays as funny rather than horrifying.
Which episode reveals Cyn?
She is properly introduced in episode 5, Home, through N's flashbacks. Her biggest twist, that she has been disguised as Tessa, lands in episode 7, Mass Destruction.
