Who Is V in Murder Drones? Serial Designation V Explained
5 October 2026 · 6 min read · by OCpit
V (Serial Designation V) is the most violent of the three Disassembly Drones in Murder Drones, and the one hiding the softest secret: underneath the knife-grin, she is fiercely protective of N. She was a Worker Drone in the Elliott manor before Cyn turned her into a killer, and she survives the series.
V in the disassembly squad
V arrives on Copper 9 as part of a trio with N and J, sent to exterminate the Worker Drones. In the Pilot she throws herself into the massacre with obvious enjoyment, and by the end of the episode Uzi and N have captured her. She is unhinged, gleeful and frightening, which makes the later reveals land much harder.
The Promening and Doll
Episode 3, The Promening, is V's big character episode. She goes to the colony's prom on her own, gets crowned prom queen and walks straight into a trap: it was Doll's plan all along, and Doll shoots her. Doll blames V for killing her parents, and that grudge drives everything Doll does. It is also the episode where it starts to show that V quietly cares about N.
V is what happens when a character's cruelty is real, and so is the one thing she would never hurt.
Her past at the Elliott manor
In episode 5, Home, N's flashbacks show that V, N and J were all Worker Drones serving in Tessa Elliott's mansion on Earth. Cyn killed them and remodelled them into Disassembly Drones. The same episode brings out a monstrously mutated V, and it is N who brings her back to her senses. Her cruelty stops looking like a personality and starts looking like damage.
The elevator in Dead End
Episode 6, Dead End, gives V her hero moment. With the group escaping by elevator, V stays outside and cuts the cables to save them, seemingly sacrificing herself. For a character introduced as a gleeful killer, choosing to die for the others is the whole arc in one decision.
Does V survive?
Yes. In episode 8, Absolute End, V comes back riding a Sentinel she has managed to tame, joins the final battle against Cyn and knocks J into a chasm. She makes it to the end of the series.
Why fans love V
- ▹The contrast: the scariest drone in the Pilot turns out to have the most loyal heart.
- ▹The tragedy: everything she does makes more sense once you know what Cyn did to her.
- ▹The payoff: her sacrifice in Dead End is earned, and her return in Absolute End is pure hype.
- ▹The voice: Nola Klop sells both the manic grin and the cracks underneath it.

Is V a villain?
She starts as an antagonist in the Pilot, but by Dead End she is willing to die for the group. The real villain is Cyn, who made her what she is.
